WarriorWOD's Approach to Recovery At WarriorWOD, we recognize that recovery from Post Traumatic Stress and other invisible wounds is a multifaceted journey. While exercise and nutrition are vital components, they are not the only elements of successful recovery. They are, however, critical tools in our holistic approach to healing. Our Commitment to You We're committed to walking with you on your path to recovery. Our approach is rooted in the proven benefits of a healthy lifestyle, focusing on exercise, nutrition, and mental well-being. Research validates that these elements are essential for strong mental health. What Is the "Exercise as a Prescription" Program? Our program consists of three main components: Exercise: You'll receive a 6-month gym membership to the fitness modality of your choice. We'll coordinate the membership based on your preferences, encouraging you to exercise in a way that meets your physical needs. Nutrition: Our virtual nutrition coaching will guide you through healthy eating habits, macro intake, weight management, and body image. You'll also have access to an In-Body machine to accurately measure Lean Muscle Mass and Body Fat Percentages. Mentorship: Connecting with fellow Veterans who can relate to your experiences, our mentorship program fosters accountability, motivation, and ownership. This connection drives results and aids in your PTS recovery. Program Commitments To succeed in our program, you'll need to: Exercise Regularly: Visit the gym at least twice a week. Connect with Your Mentor: Check in at least once every two weeks via phone, virtual conference, or in person. Meet with Your Nutritionist: Engage in nutrition coaching once every two weeks. Complete Monthly Surveys: Fill out the Program survey monthly to help us continue to improve. Remember, humility, patience, and perseverance are key. Setbacks may occur, but don't let them deter you. We're here to support you every step of the way.
  • APPLICATION PROCESS
How Do I Apply to the WarriorWOD Program? To apply, please visit the WarriorWOD "Join our Program" page and have your DD-214 ready. Make sure to black out your Social Security Number on the document. Additionally, we encourage you to subscribe to our mailing list so we can keep you updated on your application status. How Does WarriorWOD Decide Who Receives Support? With limited funding, we're unable to support every Veteran who applies. WarriorWOD reviews applications quarterly, providing support based on the severity of the Veterans' needs and available funding. When Are Applications Reviewed? Applications are reviewed quarterly, typically in March, June, August, and November. What Are the Application Periods and Cohort Start Dates? (Subject to change based on the number of applicants and funding) Apply by February 15th for the Cohort beginning in April. Apply by May 15th for the Cohort beginning in July. Apply by August 15th for the Cohort beginning in November. Apply by December 15th for the Cohort beginning in February. Am I Guaranteed Support If I Submit an Application? We wish we could support everyone, but our ability to do so depends on funding at the time of review. Your application will be kept on file for 1 year, so you won't need to resubmit every quarter. Do I Need a Disability Rating from the VA to Be Eligible? No, a disability rating is not required. However, if you have one, it will be considered as part of the review process. We assess eligibility based on various factors, including Service Connected Disability.
  • I want to support veterans! How can I help?
Great, we can always use support. The success of our programs is only possible through your support. There are several ways to support: Donate financially The average donation is a reoccurring donation of $25 however even $10 a month makes a huge impact. Corporate Sponsorships/Donations and Matching Campaigns have huge impacts on our mission. Organize a fundraiser... we are open to all ideas. Become a Battle Buddy Volunteer Of note, we are not set up to pick up donated furniture, cars, or fitness equipment. As much as we appreciate you considering supporting WarriorWOD, logistically we cannot pick up donated goods.
  • I want to donate, how much should I donate?
We are grateful for any and all donations. Most people set up a reoccurring donation of $25 per month. However, every dollar counts and we can make an impact with a reoccurring donation of $10 a month.
